Ben Lange is President and CEO of America’s Auto Auctions, the third largest group of auto auctions in the United States, behind only Manheim Auctions, a Division of Cox Automotive, and KAR Holding’s ADESA Auctions. The son of an auto dealer, Lange grew up in the automotive industry, starting out washing cars and working his way through virtually every job at a dealership. He also attended the National Automobile Dealers Association's NADA Academy with other dealers' sons and daughters.
Alongside his father and brother, Lange moved into the management of family owned new and used auto dealerships. After 10 years in the retail side of the business, Lange struck out on his own in 1999 to form America’s Auto Auction in Dallas, TX. By 2006 the single point auto auction site had grown and was acquired by Automotive Remarketing Group, which took on the name of Lange’s auction - America’s Auto Auction – and named Lange as its President and Chief Operating Officer. With Lange at the helm, America’s Auto Auction has undergone an expansion that brought the group to 12 locations by early 2015. In the first quarter of the 2017, Lange led the acquisition of Auction Broadcasting Corporation (ABC Auctions) bringing 7 more auction facilities under the America’s Auto Auction banner and two additional auction locations were also acquired in Michigan. Now with 21 locations, America’s Auto Auction is the third largest in auction sites among auto auction operators in the U.S.
Lange’s success in building businesses is driven by his passion for the employees and teams that make the business thrive. Says Lange, “Our business is all about the people – and our team at America’s Auto Auction is the BEST in the Auto Auction Business.”
Lange is based at America’s corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas. He and his wife, and two children, and are active in numerous community charities in the Dallas metroplex.
